Assessing the perceptions of members of the community on what they consider the most serious drug problem is a barometer on the effectiveness of prevention and educational efforts to reduce drug problems. Other factors that could influence the community include news media stories and personal experiences.
A phone survey (Of One Mind) was conducted in 2010, 2012 and 2014 by the Fairfield County ADAMH Board to measure resident's awareness of mental illness and substance abuse. All three surveys were weighted to account for age and gender, based on 2010 census data. Ohio data is from the same survey conducted statewide in 2010 and 2012.
